Statutes for

The European Mutual Help Network for Alcohol Related Problems, EMNA

1.      The General Assembly elects a chairperson and between 5 and 8 members of the board. The board is elected for a period of two years. The chairperson for a period of three years.

2.      The board elects a secretary and treasurer.

3.      The chairman, treasurer and secretary constitute the executive committee.

4.      The General Assembly elects an Electoral Committee which task is to propose to the General Assembly candidates for all the elected positions. The Committee consists of three persons of which one is a chairperson.

5.      The network shall organise a General Assembly every year. Invitation and business papers for the General Assembly shall be distributed to the members at least two months in advance.

6.      New members are accepted at the General Assembly on basis of broad consensus after being recommended by the board.

7.      The board may propose changes in the statutes, platform and objectives of EMNA by submitting proposals to the members at least two months in advance of the annual general meeting.

8.      The network may formulate common positions on issues that fall within the objectives for the purpose of engaging in 

a)      consultations with EU institutions

b)      advocacy on an international level

c)      support of national members of the network. 

common position is taken with consensus after consulting all members.
